Happy Memorial Day!

For some it's just another day off or a day to enjoy a cookout or day at the beach. But for those who have loved ones who have given the ultimate sacrifice, this day can bring sadness.

Let's honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country by living a life that upholds the ideals for which they died: freedom, justice, equality, and peace.

Happy Mother's Day 2017

Lord, t
hank you for the women who you allowed to nurture us, be an incredible example of love and sacrifice, and teach us wrong from right. Bless them today and everyday to know that their labor is not in vain. Amen.

What Are Your Words And Actions Modeling For Others?

If you hate, you give hate the space to breed.
If you discriminate against others because of who they are, your actions demonstrate that discrimination is okay if you have good reasons.
If you exploit others, you model that it's okay to exploit people under certain conditions, etc.

#LeadershipTuesdays: You Are Worthy.

Every other Tuesday, womenatliberty.com provides Leadership Tuesdays, a platform for a variety of voices and resources to develop, encourage and strengthen women leaders.

Defeating Self-Doubt: That little voice in our head... Wouldn't it be amazing if we could program it to speak affirmations to us especially when we need them the most. Instead sometimes its our harshest critic. We have to use our conscience mind to silence that negative voice with positivity and optimism.

Today's #Leadership Tuesdays' feature is a @Forbes article by @MelodyWilding that gives great tips on how to defeat self-doubt. Confidence over Insecurity

Don't project your insecurities onto someone else. Maybe it's not that they think they are too this or that, it's that you're uncomfortable with who they are and what they represent.

I saw a television show this weekend where a group of women attacked and disliked another woman because her aproach to life and values were different than theirs. "She thinks she's too good for us. She's too quiet. She doesn't hang out with us all the time. She's a goody two-shoes." They felt this way because she did not like the same things they liked. She expressed opinions that were different from the group's opinions. So, naturally she became a target.

As adults and women, we have to be careful that we don't go through life constantly playing middle school games. Let people be who they are. That's a sign of maturity. If you are uncomfortable with who they are, check yourself first. Have the courage to do this as an individual away from the group. It maybe that her example will help you find the confidence to be more of who you really want to be rather than always fitting into the questionable expectations of the group.
